PS3 raises the stakes for game developers

It's another article with Mario from Sidhe Interactive again, this time by stuff.co.nz. Mario talks about small and medium sized developers and how development for the newer consoles such as the PlayStation 3 is just too risky for them. Instead, Mario suggests the way forward is lower budget titles for handheld systems like the PSP and Nintendo DS, or downloadable games for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360...

(Mario): "While the stakes are getting bigger, the technology's getting more complicated, and the budgets are getting bigger, there's still a place for an emerging game development community like New Zealand"
