Sidhe Announces NRL Franchise Game Deal

Company

After recently winning the Entertainment/Games category of the TUANZ Interactive Awards 2002 with adidas Football Fever, Sidhe Interactive have some news on a big license they have been working on.

Sidhe Interactive announced today that they had secured a multi platform game development deal with successful Australian publisher Home Entertainment Suppliers Pty Ltd (HES). Already in production for four months, Sidhe will produce a rugby league sports title based on the NRL for PlayStation 2 and PC for release in late 2003. An Xbox version is also currently being considered.

"The deal is very significant for the games industry in New Zealand, having the largest budget ever, and also being the first game developed locally for a next generation console" said Mario Wynands, Managing Director of Sidhe.

In addition to the major release of the game in 2003, a free downloadable PC demo will be made available in the coming weeks. "Fans have been hungry for an early taste of the game" HES Business Development Manager David Robles commented "Both HES and Sidhe have been committed to delivering something fun for fans to play while we continue production on the main release.

Visit Sidhe's website at www.sidhe.co.nz for screenshots and updates. You can expect to see Mario and the rest of Sidhe Interactive at the Australian Games Developer Conference 2002 this week!
