Sidhe hopes pinned on Jackass

Company

Stuff.co.nz has an interesting article up on the recent North American release of Jackass: The Game, by New Zealand developers, Sidhe Interactive. Stuff reports that their latest game has been the most heavily marketed game they've ever developed, and the publishers, Red Mile Entertainment and MTV Games, are counting on big sales...

(Sidhe spokesman, Jos Ruffell) They are pumping it big, which is what games need to do well in the US. They need a lot of advertising support and marketing coverage.

"We are hoping that the title will sell out and we are able to restock in time for Christmas and carry the buzz on. But the first week's and the first month's sales - like any big movie release - are crucial. It all happens in the first couple of months."

Sidhe are hoping to eclipse their most successful title, Stacey Jones Rugby League, which sold 200,000 copies, and the 70 employee strong company is currently working on the next title, Speed Racer.
