It's almost time for the annual Game Connect: Asia Pacific conference, and this year looks to be quite a big one! GCAP has procured a variety of great international speakers who are sure to fit whatever field of interest you have. They include notable talents such as:
Hitoshi Sakimoto, Composer who's worked on Final Fantasy XII, FF Tactics Advance, Gradius V
Jason Della Rocca, Executive Director, International Game Developers Association
Pete Isensee, Director XNA Development Connection, Microsoft
Susan O'Connor, Writer, Susan O’Connor Writing Studio (recent work include Gears of War and Bioshock)
In fact, GCAP has publisher delegates from Konami, Eidos, Sega, Midway, Red Mile, Sony, Microsoft, and Pandemic.
For those who are more into the artistic side of game development, I highly recommend checking out these guys who will be showing their methodology and workflow at GCAP '07...
Chris Wells, Character Artist from Epic Games
Dave Glenn, Art Director of Creative Environments, Flagship Studios (also worked on Diablo franchise)
The conference will also have a whole range of speakers from the Australian industry, from companies like Tantalus, Pandemic Studios, IR Gurus, Firemint, and Infinite Interactive.
Game Connect: Asia Pacific '07 is on at:
Thursday, November 15 til Saturday, the 17th

The 2007 eGames & Entertainment Expo is also being held at the Convention Centre, so if
you have some time inbetween sessions, why not hop next door for a bit of a gander? For all the information as well as registration details for Game Connect: Asia Pacific '07, click on the following link to the GCAP website!

Looks awesome but with so many sponsors why is it so damn expensive? There should have been discounted rates for professional game developers such as myself.
Me again, just realised my company is a sponsor, wonder if I should ply that angle. :p
the sony party last year made the conference worth going to.
i have heard rumours there isn't going to be one this year, which makes me wonder if it's worth going to the conference at all...
not many of the talks see mlike they will interest me, and i'm not going to pay a large sum just to go to 1 or 2 talks.
Ah yes - the Sony part, where Sony paid for girls to come and dance with the developers...
How else are developers going to get to dance with girls?
I was more interested in the free booze...
Hahaha, yeah..
(sigh)
