NickVic3Gi - An Exciting New Initiative in Kids? Entertainment
Film Victoria Chief Executive Officer Sandra Sdraulig today announced details regarding NickVic3Gi, a joint Film Victoria and Nickelodeon Australia initiative.
The joint initiative will provide a $50,000 investment to support the development of 3G mobile content for tech-savvy 10 - 12 year olds.
Both Film Victoria and Nickelodeon Australia are eager to encourage innovative projects and as such, have not limited the diverse array of application ideas that could be submitted. Mobile games, mobisodes, animated series, graphic stories or community building are just some of the formats Victorian creatives could utilise to develop their concept.
?Film Victoria is committed to stimulating the production of original content and its innovative delivery. We?re delighted to join with Nickelodeon to harness Victoria?s cutting-edge creativity encourage experimentation with out-of-the-box concepts,? Ms Sdraulig confirmed.
Film Victoria?s involvement is made possible through its Digital Media Fund, which supports the development of innovative content, digital animation and game prototypes, and stimulates the talent pool of local practitioners and industry skills. The partnership with Nickelodeon was another opportunity to encourage next-generation ideas specifically designed for a youth audience that is willing to experiment with technology and adopt new concepts.

The deadline to apply for NickVic3Gi is Wednesday 8 November 2006. Applicants must be Victorian residents and will be notified of the decision by 18 December 2006.
