New Fury Interviews

Company

There are two recent interviews with the dev team over at Auran currently working on Fury for those who are interested in following this Guild Wars-like "CORPG". The first interview over at www.lotd.org is heavily focused on Fury's game details, so if you're interested in features and and gameplay specifics, head over to this one..

(Adam) With Fury we're not trying to create a virtual world, we're making a competitive game that's a bit like a sport. At the casual and amateur levels, Fury is pure fun. Jut like you and your mates can get together for a game of basketball or hockey, you can drop into Fury and play a few matches, advance your character, get some loot, and gain some prestige.

LotD Q&A with the Fury Dev Team

The other interview over at MMORPG.com is with Senior Designer Joseph Hewitt, and they cover all sorts of areas regarding gameplay, as well as issues like community involvement, in-game voice communication, and the benefits of working with middleware solution Unreal Engine 3...

"Epic's Unreal3 engine allowed us to focus on building the core game first, not worryning about creating the game engine. It was amazing how quickly we were able to get the basic game up and running under Unreal3

Focusing almost exclusively on core mechanics made it a little difficult to show off in its early stages as there wasn?t a lot of flashy graphics and effects. That hurt us a little as when you show the game to a potential publisher, some of them can?t see past the temporary graphics. The benefit is that by focusing early on, we ensured the game played very well and is fun. It also showed us which publishers knew what they were talking about and which ones weren?t actually playing the game."
