Tony Hillman discusses Auran's new 'PVPMMOG', Fury

Company

In the interview, Tony hints at a new business model for Fury, which he describes as ?quite innovative?, and will be unlike the traditional subscription based, pay-to-play, of the mainstream MMOG?s such as World of Warcraft, but kept his cards close to his chest regarding this, saying there would be an announcement "soon".

Tony also predicts that Fury will bring a AU$100 million export return for Australia, based on their getting several hundred thousand subscribers, coupled with their innovative business model.

Fury will be aimed at hardcore MMOG and PVP gamers with Tony stating that ?If they don't know what PVP means, they won't enjoy our game?.

Finally, he states that Fury does not aim to replace traditional the MMOG?s as an all time consuming hobby, but rather the ?other game? you play. One may speculate that this hints at a pay-to-play model whereby you are not constrained by a monthly limit, but rather pay for the actual time spent in game. Though as Tony mentioned, this will all be on the table, soon.

Fury is set for release later in 2007.

Ultimately, what drives players in a PVE game is "phat lewt," and what we have is "phat lewt." It's just that you earn it through PVP. So we do have that endless pursuit of "if I could just get something with slightly better stats, or that really cool-looking thing -- then I better just have one more fight.
