Phew! It's taken a bit of time to gather all the nominees for this years Sumea Developer Awards. I've been updating the games listing in the Sumea database, gathering as much information and pictures on 2004 game titles, which explains why this years awards is starting a bit later than usual. Voting for the awards will begin next week!
The nominees are listed at www.sumea.com.au/sawards2004.asp (or just click on the link at the end of this news item), but in the meantime, please check the list to see if I have left out any games or nominees, and let me know through this news item's comments posting!
I was under the impression that pandemic did some amount of the work on the full spectrum warrior game, however i'm not sure how much and wether you want to include it. (From what i recall, the majority of the "game" was developed in australia, but the military sim it's based on was developed entirely by the US studio???)
When did Tantalus Unreal 2 port come out, i thought that was this year? They developed the XMP multiplayter or whatever it was called, which got some reasonable acclaim in the press.
I have the Unreal 2 port as released on Saturday, November 01, 2003. I think it may have been included in the Sumea Developer Awards last year, actually.
Yeh, Full Spectrum Warrior and Rome: Total War are two titles which were developed partly in Australia. If anyone wants to give me reasons why or why I shouldn't include them, feel free. I'm kinda unsure atm. :)
King Arthur by Krome? Released in the US on the 16th of this month
Despite what everyone thinks, our Transformers game was simply called "Transformers" not "Transformers Armada: Prelude to Energon"
Let that be a lesson to everyone, the moment you mention a name it sticks forever, regardless of the actual title you finish with :-)
"Transformers Armada: Prelude to Energon" is actually quite a mouthful. It does sound very cool though.
Half Brick not listed as an independant studio?
