Champagne for the Ladies Coolest Girl in School

It was a game that was heard a few times during the nominations at the GDAA awards dinner last weekend, but who exactly were Champagne for the Ladies and what was their Coolest Girl in School game all about? Apparently the game has been causing some controversy with certain groups and organisations, receiving a condemnation by the Australian Family Association who described the game as "toxic" and "grossly irresponsible".

Coolest Girl in School was developed by South Australian mobile entertainment company, Champagne for the Ladies, and in the game you play a teenage girl who aims to climb her way up the high school social ladder by way of many means. You can decide to try drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, skip school, bully others, and other various ways to achieve your goal. Some of the choices you are given will work against you depending on the circumstances you are in.

Now, before you rush off to find Coolest Girl in School, the Daily Telegraph reports that it has a planned release date of January next year and will be free for NSW mobile phone users. For more details, please visit the Daily Telegraph report...

Thats ridiculous whats your "so impressionable sweet untainted little" child doing with a mobile phone if your so uptight about them not being exposed to such "toxic and grossly irresponsible" topics. Ban the child from TV, Movies, games radio and lock them up in a bubble but let them have the mobile phone just as long as this game is banned from it /end sarcasm. GOOD GAME !

Congratulations, Australian Family Association, you just made this game 100 times more awesome among the target demographic!

The Telegraph article is sensationalist rubbish. Why direct people there for information??

I'd suggest the champagne website: champagnefortheladies dot com
or codeveloper Kukan: kukanstudio dot com

Where can I get this game?

Telling others how bad this game apparently is just makes things worse. Why can't you people just shut up about how "toxic" and "grossly irresponsible" the game is because you know what, we're all still going to get this game. People put X ratings on Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and you know what, MORE people bought the game, just to see how bad it really is. I for one will be one of the first to get this game when it comes out in BC, so you might as well keep your opinions to yourself, cause we obviously won't listen. thanks >=]

People seem to get upset when art imitates life, and try to insist that it's the other way around.

I would love to read a comparison between this and 'Dangerous High School Girls in Trouble!'

So far, DHSGiT is just a demo, though. (mac and pc)

The game can be downloaded by texting 'coolest' to 19PUNK86.

For more information - such as phone compatablity and terms and conditions go to the official website (which i can't write here because this site won't allow me lol)

This is only for residents in Australia :o)
