Although hit with a setback in the push for the same 40% rebate for the local games industry, The Game Developers Association of Australia (GDAA) will be forging ahead and meeting with Senator Stephen Conroy, the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, next Monday, to discuss the need and benefits of a 40% rebate incentive. Greg Bondar, the CEO of the GDAA, said in a statement...
"We are extremely pleased to see that Senator Conroy is prepared to take the time to listen to us, to find out more about our concerns regarding the state of the industry and learn more about our vibrant and productive industry."Not only will we be able to talk about what our industry is doing and explain how significant a 40% rebate would be for the future of our industry, we will also be able to demonstrate to the Senator, first hand, the capabilities that our Australian game developers have to produce world class products."
Aussie-nintendo.com reports that Tom Crago, the president of the GDAA and CEO of Tantalus Interactive, Chris Moseley, the GDAA Treasurer and CEO of Redtribe, and Mike Fegan, CEO of IRGurus, will also be meeting with Senator Conroy.

Best of luck guys. I hope that Senator Conroy can see what an asset our industry is.
I really hope this senator listens to them. It better not be in one ear & out the other.
