Register now for the free OzViz 2010 conference on Dec 1st-3rd in Brisbane.
Includes a one-day, hands on workshop on OpenCL (the next standard in general purpose GPU and multi-core CPU computing) and a two-day conference featuring 20 presentations from industry and researchers.
Topics cover a range of technologies including computational fluid dynamics, colour mapping, real-time 2D->2D+Depth video conversion, real-time art and interactive graphics, high-performance GPU based visualisation, 3D data fusion, multi-resolution volume rendering, high-resolution visualisation platforms and visualisation of vector fields, subsurface radar, microscopy, large open pit mines and virtual reality using computer gaming environments.
The conference also includes a trip to the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium (also free) where the curator, Mark Rigby, will present on “Visualising A Universe Of Opportunity“. The presentation will highlight examples of full dome immersive programs, real-time flying through the Solar System and beyond, as well as examples of short artistic films created around the world for the dome environment and shown at various Domefest presentations in recent years. The latest upgrade at the planetarium this year has made the facility Australia’s most advanced digital planetarium.
All free... sound too good to be true?
Well, come along and meet up for a gourmet pizza at the UQ pizza bar on the second night and talk about it with other graphics professionals (including reps from ATI and NVidia). Ok, so you have to pay for your own pizza and beer but the pizza, and the conversations :), will be worth it.
