The hottest place in gaming next week will be in Ballarat? Ballarat Get into Games (GiG), is an electronic games focused event in Ballarat, and is being supported by the Victorian Government, the University of Ballarat and the Game Developers Association of Australia (GDAA).
The event intends to highlight careers in the games industry as a viable option and avenues into the games industry as well as introducing the potential business opportunities in the Ballarat region to games developers.
It will be attended by representatives from local Melbourne developers IR Guru's (AFL 2007 PS2), Endgame (Slidatron DS) and Third Wave (War World 360 XBL) as well as Auran demonstrating their new PC MMO, Fury.
Cost is a very reasonable $7.50 for adults and $5 for students. So if you're interested in a career in the games industry or are trying to get in and need some contacts, hop in the car and head down to Ballarat next week and Get into Games.
