IGN caught up with Tony Hilliam, CEO of Brisbane developer Auran Games, to talk about the recent publishing deal with Gamecock Media Group, Fury and the recently announced Battlestar Galactica game for the Xbox Live Arcade and PC.
When asked on the publishing deal with Gamecock to give them the rights to North America, Tony filled in a little of the background:
We'd been talking to the guys from Gamecock since late last year. A mutual friend suggested to me that they were getting back into the industry and they were looking for innovative titles. So, we got to talking and we all immediately hit it off. They're top guys - they're great to work with.
Details on the Battlestar Galactica title have been sketchy so far, but IGN pried a few details out, despite the fact that Auran has done a particularly good job of keeping development confidential.
As for Battlestar Galactica, we've been working in secret on this for most of 2006. We're really excited about it - it's been very top-secret, and it's going to push the boundaries of what is capable on Xbox Live Arcade.
It's not your typical Arcade game; I can say that. It's definitely pretty far along - totally playable and hopefully it will go alpha pretty soon. Sierra Online came to us with the licence and are publishing it. I can't really get into specifics, but it'll be a flagship title when it is released.
