IGDA Perth Chapter begins operation

Submitted by IGDA Perth Chapter

With the mission of connecting Perth game developers with each other and the International development community, the Perth chapter of the International Game Developers Association is now operational.

The first meeting of the chapter is set to roll on Tuesday, 25th of July at the Velvet Lounge. The meeting will be an introduction to the IGDA and its activities, Paul Turbett from Benevolent Interactive will be sharing his E3 experiences, and there will be lots of chances to meet and network with fellow developers. The event will be held in conjunction with a meeting of the Perth Independent Game Makers Initiative (PIGMI) so there will be many good times to be had.

The meeting will begin at 7PM at the Velvet Lounge (rear of the Flying Scotsman), 639 Beauford Street, Mount Lawley.

Everyone is welcome and admission is free (with attendees paying their own bar expenses) - and there are some great door prizes to be had.

Our inaugural event is sponsored by GO3 - Electronic Entertainment Expo 2007

By holding regular meetings, Perth, the newest chapter of the IGDA aims to bring together Perth game developers, provide a forum for discussion and a platform for industry speakers. Meetings will be held once every quarter and are free to attend irrespective of IGDA membership.

The Perth chapter of IGDA is a non-profit organization, run by volunteers. If you have suggestions for event speakers or, if you are an IGDA financial member, contribute yourself to the working committee - let us know.
