AFTRS is now accepting applications for two Digital Media courses in Semester 2, 2008. This is a perfect opportunity for anyone wanting to upskill or acquire a certificate level qualification in the areas of 3D Animation and Motion Graphics.
The 2 courses on offer are:
Graduate Certificate: Digital Media – 3D Animation
A comprehensive specialist course developed and taught by industry experts. Ideal for those with a prior knowledge of 3D computer graphics who are ready to acquire professional production experience. The course introduces students to the fundamentals of 3D Animation using Autodesk Maya, including modelling, texturing, animation, lighting and rendering and the basic techniques of character animation.
Graduate Certificate: Screen Design - Motion Graphics and Interactive
Future-proof your career in a rapidly changing media landscape.
This is a specialist course in professional motion graphics, interactivity and cross platform design. Perfect for titles and broadcast designers, graphic designers, web designers, editors, animators and art directors who are ready to develop their artistic and professional skills as digital artists ready to work in the industry.
Participants will design an interactive project for an emerging medium and will complete major projects for an industry client - in the past these have included MTV, Fuel, Movie Network, Nickelodeon and the ABC.
Students will be provided with an overview of the fundamental principles of visual and interaction design, and an introduction to motion graphics and titles design for film, television and interactive production.They will also work on collaborative projects in response to briefs from an industry client.
