The theory around here is that it might be a hoax, nothing on the EA website.

EA have posted job ads on Sumea before, and the person I correspond with has a legitimate EA email address.

I've sent them an email asking a few questions about EA in Melbourne (I'm curious as well!), but I have no doubts on the legitimacy of this job.

EA have had a small dev team (read 1) in Melbourne for many years. He is an v.experinced developer who worked in the US but decided he wanted to return. Rather than lose him EA set him up with their Melbourne sales and marketing team.

Since then the team has grown a bit, but it is still relatively small.

I know the people involved, its not a hoax.

The email address is certainly legitimate, it's Toni Bingham-Rolls who is a Senior HR Generalist for EA based in Southport, Qld.
