MELBOURNE – Tuesday 7 October, 2008 – The Game Developers Association of Australia today announced that Zareh Nalbandian, Co-founder and Managing Director of Animal Logic, has been added as a Keynote Speaker for the Game Connect Asia Pacific (GCAP) program.
Animal Logic is one of the world's most highly regarded animation and visual effects studios and Zareh will utilise GameConnect Asia Pacific (GCAP), Australia’s premier game development event, to provide insight into the company’s recent announcement that it will branch into the video game space.
In his GCAP Keynote, Zareh will use share his perspectives, both on the company's film pedigree (encompassing such titles as the Academy Award winning Happy Feet) and on the rationale behind the company’s move into the games market.
Jay Wilbur, Vice President of Epic Games is also confirmed as a GCAP Keynote Speaker. Jay will talk about integrating middleware into the development process and is sure to captivate presentation attendees with his insights on the development of Unreal and Gears of War.
Other standout speakers in the GCAP program include Dan Scott, the Global Head of Production for Nokia N-Gage who will give a presentation on touch functionality in mobile games; James Gwertzmann from PopCap; Mary-Beth Haggerty from Autodesk; and Sebastien Schertenleib from Sony Computer Entertainment, Europe.
The conference will be closed with a rare, live appearance by Yahtzee, who will give a presentation on game design.
