Jason Hill has a rundown of yesterday's Framework :create in Melbourne up at the Screenplay blog. The speaker list for Framework :create includes local veteran John Passfield, Shilo McClean (author and expert in digital effects and story telling), Chris Edwards (CEO at The Third Floor studio who had previously worked on Star Wars Episode III), and Keith Steury from UsabilityOne. Framework is focused on looking at the convergence in film and games, and if there's a great source of information and experience the relatively new and emerging game industry can draw from, it's undoubtely the film industry. From Screenplay...
Mr Reed (Tony Reed, Framework organiser) says he is concerned that there is an impression that the local industry is falling behind other regions of the world...Framework had speakers with a strong film background, which Mr Reed says is a recognition that the Australian film industry is more mature than the games sector, and can share valuable experience as well as join forces to secure innovative projects.
There's also another Framework: Create session in the other game developer hub of Australia (Brisbane) tomorrow, but you're gonna have to be darn quick to grab any spots left. Read the full report over at Screenplay!
