RPG Vault has published the second part of the huge interview with Sydney developers, Imaginary Numbers, on their RPG called Tactica Online. Luke Carruthers: While we're only a year old as a studio, but we're all veterans, with experience on titles ranging from PC shooters like Tribes: Vengeance to esoteric strategy games like The Lord of the Rings Online TCG. The thing that unites us all is a desire to do something different from the standard online RPGs that you can see everywhere now. Nothing against those games - we all play them in the office - but we think there's a need for a different sort of fun as well.In total there are just under 40 people working on the game, contractors included. The heart of development is the team leads, John Nangle and Tess Snider. John's worked on a number of console and PC titles over the years, including The Lord of the Rings Online TCG and Lost Continents, a canceled MMO set in the pulp adventure era, while Tess has most recently come from an as yet unreleased space station sim, and used to develop software for actual spaceships, which is just about the coolest job I know of!
