Electronic Arts have announced that they are reducing some of their Gamecube titles in Australia to as low as $39.95, effective immediately..
"Leading independent publisher Electronic Arts has landed a stinging blow on Nintendo, accusing the platform holder of "disappointing reluctance to compete with Microsoft and Sony" in a statement announcing massive price cuts to several key titles in its GameCube software range in Australia. While EA's move is a bold one and its apparent motives are laudable, the simple fact is that an underperforming GameCube in Australia would lead to a lot of unsold EA games. The company has several key titles on the platform this Christmas - including 007: Nightfire, Medal of Honor: Frontline, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 and FIFA 2003 - and getting rid of its stock at cut-down prices is better business than allowing it to sit in warehouses."
Could this mean that you can get Ty, the Tasmanian Tiger for cheap at Christmas? Let's hope so! :) Read the report at Gamesindistry.biz and Gamecube Europe.
