Kotaku have some hands-on impressions of the still-in-development Xbox Live version of Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords which has been made available for journalists to preview. Kotaku editor, Brian Crecente, had this to say about Infinite Interactive's immensely popular RPG Puzzle game...
The game is very similar to the other versions, in fact it remains nearly unchanged with the exception of the controls, the graphics and the online play. The graphics, and the use of rumble, add a lot to the experience. Sure it's just a dressed up puzzler, but the addition of some pretty sharp special effects and a much crisper overall look help make the game that much more fun to play.
I cannot begin to tell you how popular and well received this game has been. The word of mouth effect on Puzzle Quest has been quite extraordinary, and I've stumbled onto plenty of discussion threads about Puzzle Quest in the most unlikely of places, and I'm sure Puzzle Quest will have an equally positive response on Xbox Live. It's also worth noting that in the comments area of the Kotaku news item, someone has quoted Interactive's Steve Fawkner's response to the common complaint that Puzzle Quest cheats. "It doesn't cheat. I was too lazy to implement cheating".
