There is no doubt that the major consoles benefit from quality exclusive games, and Sony is no stranger to this strategy. While not being able to secure exclusivity of the hugely successful GTA franchise, Sony have put their faith in Rockstar by the securing of an exclusive deal for their upcoming "next-gen franchise". The deal, which is obviously not Grand Theft Auto, nor is it LA Noire, is described as a "next generation crime thriller", and will be developed by Team Bondi, who are currently working on LA Noire for Rockstar. It is being stated that the new title will "blend cinema and gaming".
Sony is promoting the fact that the collaboration with Rockstar will emphasize the PS3?s uniqueness. ?Rockstar really wanted to make a game that you can truly only do on PS3, harnessing the power of Cell and Blu-ray disc,? wrote Sony?s Michael Shorrock on the PlayStation blog. This deal will do that, he added.
