Young Gunz - AIE Students for Hire

Jason Hill reports on his Screen Play blog of a new company set up by David Giles, head of Melbourne's Academy of Interactive Entertainment and former director of development at Melbourne House, for graduated AIE students who haven't been snapped up by local game developers to work on titles and gain some valuable experience in the process...

David Giles... says Young Gunz lets local developers access AIE graduates as a temporary workforce when needed.

"We have a small pool of gifted artists at the AIE that may not be picked up by the industry due to hiring needs at the time," says Mr Giles.

I think Canberra will be setting up something similar. But if you are in Melbourne just drop in your folio and we will see if anything comes up.

Hi, I live in Sydney, and am currently studying Design Computing at Sydeny Uni.

Was wondering if there is anything like this in Sydney, or if anyone knew of any studios where I could look for work experience.

    Thanks in advance.

Sydney is pretty much a dead city almost when it comes to games development companies. You have Team Bondi and Microfote.

    Thanks anyway.
