The newly reformed Melbourne chapter of the International Game Developers' Association (IGDA) Melbourne is pleased to announce that it has secured Firemint as the exclusive sponsor for their Christmas BBQ.
To be held on Saturday 19 December 11am - 3pm at the Edinburgh Gardens in North Fitzroy, this is the follow up event from the enormously successful IGDA Melbourne 'Reboot' that attracted around 150 people in November.
"Firemint have been fantastic in their support of the Melbourne games development community,” said Mr Mark Flanagan, IGDA Melbourne spokesperson. “Their generosity in sharingtheir experiences of creating successful games in a difficult market shows a commitment to growing our industry as a whole. I sincerely hope that their example will be followed by other developers. I'm thrilled that they have sponsored the Christmas BBQ, and look forward to thanking them in person on the day."
Rob Murray, CEO of Firemint said “I think the IGDA idea of a Christmas BBQ is excellent, and I’m happy we can support the event. I’m hoping the Melbourne game development community will turn out in strength, and everyone will have a great time! Thanks to IGDA Melbourne for organising another fantastic event."
All games industry folk, including the recently redundant, games students and independent developers are welcome to join in the summer festivities. To ensure adequate catering, please RSVP by Wednesday 16 December - you will then receive your 'ticket to lunch'.
