Spunge Game is on the lookout for an experienced Senior Animator (must be based in Australia!) to join our tight-knit team and contribute to an exciting Meta-funded MR project. With the opportunity to work remotely with the occasional team meeting in the office, we would love for you to join our team for our upcoming project and to have some fun along the way!

 Spunge Games is part of a collective of companies with shared ownership and complementary skills, including Liquid Animation, one of Australia’s top animation studios and Liquid Interactive, a leading digital experience agency.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Craft consistent high-quality animations, specialising in creature & character animation
  • Collaborate closely with the key stakeholders to ensure that animation content meets the highest standards of quality, consistency, and style
  • Implement animations within Unity, ensuring compatibility and optimization for various platforms and devices.
  • Iterate on animations based on stakeholder feedback to achieve desired visual and narrative objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve animation-related issues, ensuring smooth integration with other elements of the project
  • Solve technical problems that may arise in the development of the game
  • Think creatively and critically to expand user experiences into new virtual reality mediums
  • Collaborate with a small team to create and refine in-game animations

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Computer Graphics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience as a 3D Animator in the gaming, animation, or related industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing high-quality animations.
  • Proficiency in 3D animation software such as Autodesk Maya, Blender, or equivalent with knowledge of implementing animations into Unity
  • Experience with Unity and/or other game engines, with a solid understanding of animation principles and techniques within these environments
  • Knowledge of rigging and skinning techniques for character animation
  • Strong artistic and creative skills, with the ability to conceptualize and execute animations that effectively convey emotions, movements, and narratives.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate ideas and feedback clearly
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time and within project constraints.

This is a full-time fixed-term contract running to the end of year with the possibility of a permanent position. Renumeration will be commensurate with experience.
