Destroy All Humans! 2 Released

In case you might have missed it, Destroy All Humans! 2 was released sometime last week. I've waited a few days for metacrtic to gather its reviews and tally up the score for Pandemic Strudio's eagerly awaited sequel to their alien action game. I've grabbed a few choice quotes from various game review sites that sum up their opinion on the game, but overall, the game has rated pretty well with an average metracritic score of 79%. Not bad indeed!

Destroy All Humans! 2 is a good example of what to do with a sequel. Pandemic has built on what worked in the first game and expanded it to make an amusing and enjoyable experience. While the profane approach to story telling may not be for everybody, those with an open sense of humor will find a lot to laugh at and some compelling gameplay. The voice acting is top notch and the action oriented approach works quite well. It's not a perfect game, but Destroy All Humans! 2 is a nice way to help close out the current generation of systems.

Make War Not Love does a great deal to improve on the formula introduced in the original game. It's a bit more in your face, but the open play style allows gamers to play as they see fit. If you want to tear up the town, great. If you prefer to emulate Sam Fischer and stealth out, that's an option as well. In the end though, what really makes Crypto-138 stand out from the pack is the combination of solid controls and side-splitting humor.

It may be over a year later than most had hoped, but THQ has finally delivered the extraterrestrial Grand Theft Auto hordes of gamers had originally envisioned. Really, what self-respecting techno-sci-fi geek wouldn't fall in love with the concept of a human-disdaining, death-ray-toting alien jetpacking his way through an open-world old-timey America?
