Star Wars: The Force Unleashed sells 1.5 million in a week worldwide

Company

Krome Studios joins LucasArts who are basking in the glow of the outstanding sales of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Marketwatch.com reports that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has sold 1.5 million units worldwide since its release a week ago, becoming the fastest selling Star Wars game ever as well as the best selling game to come from LucasArts. Although we probably won't find out how many of those units were Krome's share, it's great news for the Brisbane based studio (with teams in Melbourne and Adelaide) who were responsible for the Nintendo Wii, Playstation 2, and PSP versions. From Marketwatch.com...

"The record-setting sales of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed shows the undiminished power of Star Wars and its popularity across all media types, including video games," said Darrell Rodriguez, president of LucasArts. "We're blown away by the response to the game."
