Fruit Ninja hits 6 million sales

Fruit Ninja has hit an incredible milestone of 6 million iPhone sales! That's actually quite a phenomenal achievement!! If we could just list the milestones that Fruit Ninja has achieved since its launch, we can see that Fruit Ninja sales leapt from 2 million sales to 6 millions in the last five months. How did they manage to do that?!

April, 2010 : Launch!
July 2010 : 1 million sales
September 2010 : 2 million sales
February 2011 : 6 million sales

In celebration of hitting the 6 million mark, Brisbane based Halfbrick Studios are gonna be planting real orchards with the help of the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation. Yes, they're growing some real fruit as a remedy for all the virtual ones they've helped slaughter...

To celebrate the sales and make amends for fruit death worldwide, we are partnering with the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation to help give something back to juice lovers. Yep, there is a charity specifically dedicated to growing fruit! The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation plants orchards around the world to benefit communities and the environment. Halfbrick has committed to sponsoring a fully functioning orchard in a low-income Native American community as part of FTPF’s Reservation Preservation program.

It's an awesome gesture by the Halfbrickians, and they deserve a huge congratulations for a monumental achievement. Well done!
