Future of Games and Interactive Entertainment to be revealed at Landmark Sydney Event

The first major business forum for the video games and interactive entertainment industry has been launched in Australia by Connect Events.

The Gametech Conference will debut on the 21st and 22nd June at Sydney’s Luna Park and is expected to be a catalyst for uniting the various groups that make up the industry and for driving the development of Gamification as a digital engagement tool in Australia.

Under the theme "Unleash the Power of Interactive Entertainment," the event will feature a 2-day conference, International Keynote Speakers, 40+ interactive sessions, a pre-event workshop, networking events and an intimate exhibition space showcasing the latest video game technology, products and solutions.

Gametech covers all segments of the interactive entertainment space - from powerhouse publishers, traditional, mobile and web platform operators, game and game apps developers, government and regulators, multi-channel retailers to digital engagement and corporate gamification case studies.

Over 40 executive speakers have already been confirmed from, Sony, Microsoft, EA Games, Ubisoft, Namco, Google, GAME Australia, HASBRO as well as an official live-link welcome from Parliament House by Federal Minister for Home Affairs Brendan O'Connor whose is overseeing the discussion on an R 18+ classification category for video games.

Recent figures from research firm Business Insights show that the global video gaming market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 8.9% to reach $76.1bn in 2013.

The event is being supported by key industry associations, IGEA (Interactive Games and Entertainment Association), GDAA (Games Developers Association) and AIMIA (Australian Interactive Media Industry Association)
