Pixel artist for a 2d based strategy game (think civilisation type graphics) required in Melbourne. The kind of work will be:

- Creating Pixel artwork for a tile based PC Strategy Game, using Adobe Photoshop
- Work with existing graphics to create new game tiles ie. can you change a regular building into a war damaged building, using just 20 pixels?

Environment Artist for Imaginary Numbers

This role will be involved in all aspects of modelling, effects, animation and texturing, with special focus on environment modelling and texturing.

The ideal candidate must have:

* Extensive experience in Maya (preferred), 3D Studio Max, or other professional 3D package
* Extensive experience in Photoshop, including texture painting
* A strong understanding of game art production and concepts, including polygon and texture efficiency
* The candidate be highly motivated and possess self management skills, as well as strong teamwork and communication skills

Additionally, the following will be highly regarded:

* Experience creating in-game environments
* Level Design experience

Previous commercial experience is required. This is a senior role, and will suit someone with several years of experience looking to advance their career with a central role at a new studio.

Modeler/Mapper

U-235 Studios is a new development group located in Melbourne.

We are currently looking for a full-time modeler/environment artist to help develop an FPS prototype (see http://www.u-235studios.com for full details).

We are using next-gen technology utilising DirectX 9.0 & PS 3.0. Modelers will be creating scenes that consist of up to 500 000 polygons on screen. Rendering technology including real-time HDR (tone-mapping, blueshifting), light-blooming, Spherical-Harmonics lighting and post-processing effects such as real-time DoF.

We require -
- 3DSMax experience
- FPS level design experience (whether using a 3D app or world builder, ie: Radiant)

Prefered if you also have these skills:
- UV unwrapping experience. Good understanding of UV space and preserving texture space through efficient packing.
- high-poly modeling experience and normalmap baking.
- understanding of current & new game technologies such as normal-mapping.
- background theoretical knowledge of game flow, level design and user interaction
- games development experience (community mod or published title)
