I would say that one of the biggest compliments a game could get from the internets is receiving a positive nod from those Penny Arcade guys. The opposite could also be said if you were getting ripped by them. Thankfully, for Melbourne developers Infinite Interactive, Penny Arcade seem to love their RPG / Puzzle hybrid game Puzzle Quest: Challenge Of The Warlords...
Puzzle Quest fever has apparently seized the f* reins here at headquarters. This is probably the last you'll hear of it, purely out of politeness - but the game is a feast for the spirit.
Penny Arcade have also drawn up a comic up on the game which is very highly amusing and well worth checking out as well...
Finally got my copy in the mail yesterday, although the PC demo was enough to convince me it was worth a look.
It did strike me upon first viewing that I wasn't sure who the market for this game was besides me. Hopefully this (along with Bookworm Adventures) heralds a new maturity in the "casual" games space, maybe even a willingness to experiment with mixed genres ...
Or maybe they're blips in the creative matrix.
Regardless, the game is simply fun. Well done to Infinite Interactive.
they announced on the infinite website today that the game was the number 1 selling ds game in the usa last week. great work!
I'm slightly disappointed in the DS version :( The effects and sounds when the mana balls dissapear etc that exist in the PC version just aren't in the DS version. I loved the PC version and had high hopes but the DS has just left me lacking.
There is no download multiplayer option either, both users must have the game. I was also really hoping the game could be played online using the Wii Fii connection but it wasn't to be.
The comic strip was pretty good. Have no idea about the game thou... :/
WHY AM I SO BALD?
Congratulations, Infinite! A genius concept, well-executed, getting the success and attention it deserves. Sensational work.
(Plus I'm officially hooked, you bastards.)
Great game! Well done. (And hurry up with the PC version)
