John Passfield's latest entry up in his Game Musings journal will be of use to all you budding game designers out there looking to get into the games industry...
"Unlike programming and art, game design is a difficult area to break into. This is due to design being one of those skills that is hard to demonstrate. There are a lot of courses that deal with game programming and game art - but finding a good game design course is difficult. The best way to learn is on the job - but it?s a catch 22 situation. Unless you have experience it?s hard to be hired - and usually the best way to get experience is to work for a game developer. So, if you want to be a game designer but have no experience what can you do?"
