We (The Faculty of Information Technology Monash University) are currently running a 3D Competition they will interest your readers. The Comp is sponsored by Alias
It is a Nationwide Competition and is open to all students in Secondary School and Tafe (conditions apply).
The Maya 3D Competition has two entry options:
1. Short Animation (maximum length of 3 minutes)
2. Still Image
All entries must be created using Maya PLE (Personal Learning Edition) which can be downloaded from the Alias website http://www.alias.com.
Who?
All Secondary Schools in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania are eligible for entry. Schools from other Australian states please contact us before submitting an entry. The competition is directed at students studying in Year 10, 11 and 12, however there is no restraint in age so long as all students are enrolled at a Secondary College (High School). If you attend TAFE please contact us before submission.
Entries can be team based or individual. Maximum team size of 4 students.
When?
Final Submission cut off date will be the 31st October 2005. (Now extended to Wednesday 3rd of November!)
I checked out the website, they have prizes for the top ten entries. They say XBOX is one of the prizes I wonder if its a 360?
Each entry gets a copy of Maya and the top three entries win an 11 pack of maya for the school. Pretty Nice
Can anyone tell me if you can send your entry in via email?
Yes we will accept image files only via email.
Due to many requests we have changed the due date to Wednesday 2nd of Nov 2005.
Prizes for the Top Ten entries
Prizes include - copies of Maya for yourself and your school
XBOX, Ipod Mini, Ipod Video, trophies etc.
