Nocturnal Entertainment Australia has announced the release of Catapult v1.41.3, the latest revision of their development system for the Game Boy Advance(tm).
Catapult uses a custom language that is designed around the GBA hardware, and includes an editor, emulator, debugger and an integrated toolset. Catapult comes with an integrated, comprehensive users guide, and a series of tutorials for beginners.
Catapult v1.41.3 has the following new major features:
- New resource manager
- User definable one-press macros (aka 'frags')
- Major optimisations (average 20-30% faster on project execution)
- More flexible logging support
- More than 10 new commands
- Sound record (via a microphone) in the sound editor
- New image editor tools, including palette manipulation, scaling, cropping and more
All up, there are more than 160 improvements over the previous release.
An evaluation version of Catapult can be downloaded free from Nocturnal's web site, and includes playable demos with complete source code.
All purchased export packages now include an *unlimited* number of free exports (was previously limited to 4 exports / month).
The Spanish and French versions are due out before the end of the month.
