Gamespy reports that the very popular FPS, Half Life, is 4 years old as of today. After many delays and push backs, it was finally declared finished on November 9th, 1998. Running on a modified Quake 2 engine, no one would ever have predicted it would still be used to run some of the most popular online games of today. Just as amazing is that Valve themselves haven't released a new game since. ;) ** I've been corrected.. Quake 1 engine!
