Digital Learning Lab is responsible for developing digital, world leading content for use throughout TAFE NSW’s footprint. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for enabling the Digital ecosystem, encouraging and rewarding new Digital knowledge and then putting this new knowledge into actual use. The AR/VR Unity Developer is responsible for reviewing, testing and developing experimental applications for new immersive technology to ensure higher design accuracy and end product quality.
This an ongoing full time position with location negotiable dependent on TAFE NSW campus availability.
Reporting to the Innovation Team Manager the primary responsibility of this role is to research, design, test, and develop experiences to evaluate emerging AR/VR hardware and software technologies to enhance the digital learning experience.
Key areas of focus include:
Collaborate with the Digital Learning Lab Team on internal design, reviews, demonstrations and external communications regarding VR and AR technology.
Work with clients, and internal teams to integrate the latest technology and techniques in the Digital Learning Lab product offerings.
Expand the TAFE NSW AR/VR suite and capacity by evaluating various AR/VR System related technologies for potential integration to Digital Immersive production pipeline.
Serve as a subject matter expert to others seeking to utilise VR and AR technologies to automate and streamline existing manual business processes.
Interact with the Global academic and business community to explore new techniques and promote Digital Learning Lab AR/VR capability.
Prepare and present analysis, methods and results to AR/VR Designers within TAFE on the experiments conducted via TAFE NSW Digital Lab experiments.
The Skills / Experience
Relevant qualification or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience in AR/VR, game development or similar industry experience.
Advanced knowledge of Unity3D and strong C# and Python experience.
Experience in VR development including the implementation of 6-DOF Touch/Oculus interaction mechanics and integrating third party SDKs and API’s.
Strong understanding of 3D rendering pipeline concepts and 3D graphical mathematics
Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.
