Technical Artist

Job Position: 

Mighty Kingdom’s ever-expanding team is looking for a technical artist to join us in Adelaide, South Australia!

Job Summary:
As a Technical Artist at Mighty Kingdom, you will work closely with the Product Managers and a multidisciplinary and talented team of programmers, designers and artists, with a goal to create and manage art tools and pipelines across our various projects ranging from Console to Mobile F2P and Premium titles. You will possess excellent verbal and written skills as you will be the bridge between Art and Engineering disciplines, and help provide communication and cohesion between all groups.

-Computer Science or equivalent background is a big plus
-2+ years of experience as a senior/lead technical artist in a game development studio
-Demonstrated knowledge of working in Unity and similar game engines
-Demonstrated experience building or optimising existing content creation pipelines
-Demonstrated knowledge in batch exporting/ baking animation data
-Technical fluency in a scripting language: C#, mel and python and/or API/programming experience
-Expert and generalist level knowledge of Maya
-Ability to competently rig and skin characters and props
-Ability to light and bake lighting scenes
-Experience in analytics and optimization best practices
-Ability to learn quickly and pick up various in-house and 3rd party processes, tools and APIs
-Passionate about working in game engines

-Research, define, extend, and maintain production pipelines, processes, and workflows to realize the artistic vision of the Product Manager and Game Designers
-Be a key decision maker in the selection of software packages/tools for the art team
-Lead the technical pipeline of how assets get created, integrated, lit, surfaced and polished in the game for the final look
-Assist with the management/integration of all art assets and animation into the game
-Actively establish content specs, and drive framerate and memory optimisation for target platforms
-Establish content specs to achieve visual target while optimizing for target platforms
-Support the art and animation team by writing scripts and tools to improve the content creation pipeline
-Be liaison for the engineering team on behalf of the artists in troubleshooting technical and optimisation issues
-Contribute art, lighting, anim or vfx assets as required
-Create efficient materials/shaders to be used across multiple game assets
