Playcorp Studios is searching for an enthusiastic and talented 2D artist with a passion for games, to work onsite at our office space located in Melbourne's city centre.
In this role you’ll be expected to concept a range of assets from characters, environments and props as well as create 2D artworks, including backgrounds, icons and other work as required by the project.
We are looking for an artist who:
-- Is able to successfully follow schedules and meet deadlines.
-- Has extensive experience in Photoshop or equivalent software.
-- Shows strong illustration skills.
-- Has icon creation skills.
-- Can concept structures, characters, props and environments.
-- Is confident and shows strong communication skills.
-- Has the ability to follow art direction and style.
-- Is able to work within a collaborative team environment and to develop quick and concise concept art in an iterative approach.
-- Has an understanding of source control such as git.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-- Working closely with a designer and other artists to create concepts and/or 2D artworks.
-- Creation of concept art for environments, structures and creatures or as a tool to explain ideas and direction to the rest of the team.
-- Providing feedback on concept art and artwork developed by other artists.
-- Creation of high and low resolution 2D artwork fitting to the game’s art style.
-- Creating icons.
-- Creating Steam assets such as icons, emotes, badges and backgrounds.
-- Using our source control to push and update assets in the game.
-- 1+ years related experience creating concept art or 2D artworks.
-- Has experience in UI/UX design or is willing to learn.
-- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
-- Has experience preparing game-ready artwork for use with Unity.
