Lead Artist
Micro Forte is looking for a lead artist, who has strong artistic and technical skills in all the core art disciplines. Experience developing artwork for games on PC and console is essential. An ideal candidate would be a multidisciplinary artist with experience in concept art, modelling and texturing objects and environments with a very strong technical understanding of 3DSMAX5 or higher, and an ability to innovate to create the best possible visuals within the constraints of an MMOG game.

They will have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with programmers to develop and refine such areas as morphing, rigging, character customisation, lighting from the art perspective, and understand technical issues such as memory budgets, lighting models, normal mapping, and LOD techniques, and know how to work with these to achieve great visuals, within the parameters of the game engine.

The work with each of these areas will be the examples of both technique and quality for others to follow to generate the considerable volume of content ? from enemies to environments ? needed for an MMOG. As part of this lead role, you will be required to build items, creatures and scenery models within 3DSMAX. As a guide, our character models are around 3000 polys.
