Position ? Graphic Artist

Two Way TV Australia is a leading interactive television (iTV) games and enhanced TV applications technology company looking to recruit a dynamic Graphic Artist to join its team of experienced creative professionals, reporting to the Head of Production.

In this role you will play a major part in the 2D and 3D creation & design of entertainment-based applications for existing broadcasters (e.g. MindGames channel on Foxtel, Austar and SkyNZ) as well as other platforms including mobile telephones and SMS-TV.

Ideally you will have background in graphic design for games including experience in having developed games on devices such as games consoles, handheld devices and set top boxes.

This role requires the candidate to have a skill set across a number of disciplines from 2D pixel art to 3D animation where the artist will be responsible for the design from preproduction to final launch. Due to the nature of the environments we deploy on ? projects tend to have aggressive deadlines which need to be kept to.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES & CAPABILITIES:

?Experience in graphic design within an interactive and games environment
?Experience in Broadcast will also be considered as an advantage
?Proven experience as a graphic artist for games and the ability to create compelling graphics on a limiting platform with limited palettes, which includes backgrounds, sprites, animations and characters
?Ability to create graphics for the iTV environment, and able to overcoming the challenges this presents
?Ability to take 2 dimensional concepts from an initial storyboard and translate this to 3 dimensional game prototypes and then onto release
?Brainstorming with the rest of the team on new concepts and game ideas with the ability to translate graphically on the fly
?Experience in creating pixel artwork for sprites and animations
?Thorough working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
?Working experience in a major 3D package. Specifically experience in using 3ds Max and experience in Maya is also considered.
?Experience in working in a collaborative interactive team environment with coders and producers
?Capability to work to project deadlines and work creatively in what is at times, a challenging and time dependent environment
?The ability to develop and try out new and different ideas in iTV and any new interactive platforms, which TWTVA deliver to
?As required design corporate, marketing and presentation materials
?Commitment to personal and peer development and sharing best practices
