Microsoft at TGS was impressive, really impressive. Acctually xbox 360 looked really solid, great loking playable games etc. (Peronsally, go SONIC!)
But the thing that really struck me is the lack of lines to play anything on an xbox 360. The japanese really shunned it (apart from ridge racer 6). Just for comparision i waited 5 minutes to get a go of Need for speed Most Wanted, where as for Anything on the ps2 or GC (ie Anything Naruto, Gundam etc) the lines were hours long.
PS3 Looked unbelievable though, if they pull that off microsoft are in big trouble.
Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer from TGS (Hi-res shaky cam version). (streaming version here) It's one long cut scene, but it looks fantastic. If this is the visual standard for all next-gen titles, we're in for a big treat. [:)]
Crytek's next-gen cry-engine shaky cam footage.. Has Day/night cycles, volumetric clouds, interactive/desctructable environments, soft shadows etc

The MGS4 trailer I was actually quite surprised by... it's the first game footage in a while that's actually created a bit of a buzz of excitement for me.

in terms of hardware capabilities, sony are taking the best route... in terms of developer support, they've got all the big names... in terms of development style, it's an annoying piece of poop to work on, even if you can push more pixel instructions and polys.
will be interesting which machine the western market will ultimately favour. For me personally, xbox360 is feeling just like a dirty piece of marketing fluff (especially after their e3 launch, you felt like a "potential customer unit" and their machine is the tv/console/communication equivelant of a nokia n-gage). Good luck to microsoft, they're going to change their whole business attitude to even scratch non-western markets.
http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/adventure/metalgearsolid4/news_6133820.html its real time. Can i be the first to say "woot!" :D
You know what's funny? All that crazy detail seen in the trailer seems to be a massive overkill for a game where you'll spend most of your time from a 3/4 top down view. [;)]
There's some new pics of Project Gotham Racing 3 up, and boy, that sure is looking fantastic. Still waiting to see it in motion though.
Is anyone else kinda surprised that the release date of the Xbox 360 is just next month? You'd kinda expect to hear a lot more of it, and especially the launch titles.
Some nice wireframe shots of a car from PGR3.
This thread is rapidly becoming "a taste of current gen" which doesn't sound too fantastic [;)], but there are some new shots of Unreal Tournament 2007 here.

You'll have to copy and paste this links (or drag and drop). Some interesting things in the shots include the new tripod-like vehicle, and I think the new Leviathon like vehicle.
Speaking of TGS, expect a massive Microsoft presence there this year with their push into the Japanese market, we should see some really nice next-gen stuff in the coming days.
