Developers Missing in Action

It's been a rather slow period for news, so I thought I'd make a call for help with a bit of spring cleaning in Sumea's developers listing. These developers are facing the chop from our listing unless anyone has some clue as to whether they're still around. If you have any information on them, please do post in the comments area for this news item! Actually, if there are any other developers that I've missed that are indeed inactive, do let me know!

Spectrum Wired - Perhaps should be removed from the list since they're focussed on web and software for phone and PDA's..
Round 12 Studios - Website is defunct
Imaginary Numbers - Status still unconfirmed
Perception - Should they be listed?
Aquanaut - No website, can't find any more details. Anyone know them?
TheyerGFX - I should probably check them out in more detail, but they probably should be listed as a developer service
Rath Website is dead
Mobstar Games - Domain has been taken over and parked by your typical domain grabber
Eyecon - The parent of KaWow, they aren't really involved in making games. To be delisted from Sumea?
Kawow - Didn't pay their webhosting bill? o_O
Realtime Studios - Website defunct
That Game - A part of IR Gurus? Should they be listed anymore?
Rene Dudfield - Website defunct
White Noise Games - They've been out of the business for a while now, haven't they?
Drewfx - Should be listed as a developer service?
Insendiego - Domain parked by registrar
Sidereal Entertainment - Freehauler website defunct?
Pixelati - Website shows directory listing

    Imaginary Numbers have closed up.
Kawow still have their tiny, A4 printed sign in the window across from Westside Tattoo in WestEnd.

Thats all I know sorry Souri.

Eyecon are still up and running, but the only games they seem to make nowdays are casino games (from which they make most of their money). take that as you will.

You might want to add Oceanic Studios to that list as well.

Thanks for the replies. I've put all the developers that have dead websites and Imaginary Numbers into the inactive developers list, but I'm unsure what to do about KaWow, Perception, and That Game...

TheyerGFX is not really a developer service because we do not work under any Studio... we develop our own products... and we are still at it, current project is 3D Kit Builder for PC platform just completed 2 x F1 cars, the Williams FW28 and BMW Sauber F1.O6 you can check them out on the 3D Kit Builder web site.

I should probably post my definition of the developer services and the developers listing, and the difference between them. The developers listing - which I really should have called the games developer listing - is for companies that develop games, be it for mobile, handheld, console, or pc. The developer services listings are for companies that develop tools or middleware solutions, or offer outsourcing services for game developers like audio, 3D, or animation content. I've been looking over TheyerGFX's work, and I can see that the work you do fits more appropriately in the latter category.

According from someone there, ThatGame is just on paper now, it is IR Gurus as you say, so it can be removed.

You may add Nigredo Studios to developers - even though we don't have any funding at this point in time, we are working Indy on a game, and also developing a realistic water physics solution, to hopefully plug into our target game engine for the commercial project. I added a small amount at the sumea ki under NigredoStudios, but I'll have to edit it latter, to sound better - dam wikipedia habits.

Not sure if Doien Studios is still alive either - haven't seen any movement from David Grant from this or the EGA website since the logo competition...

The whole games in development list could use a bit of a cleanup. i.e. perception aren't going to release that stargate title, AFL2005 has been out for some time. Stuff like that.
  • 13. Souri - Tue, 13 Jun 2006 7:30:28Z
That lists games that have been released in the last 12 months or are under development. Yeh, there's no visual indication seperating those two categories, but that's because I've been too busy to adjust the css yet. I'll do that now :)

Perception is probably now defunct. Its last roll of the dice was to be acquired by DVM. DVM announced to the ASX on 7 June that after completing a due diligence of Perception, DVM will not be proceeding with its acquistion.

This leaves the many staff who haven't be paid their superannuation and various contractors that weren't paid their fees sitting behind preferred contractors that were paid all their money.

In all the Perception story just gets uglier and uglier. Any thinking person in his right mind should avoid this company and its principal, Ben Lenzo at all costs.

Thanks for all the feedback. I've delisted all the above suggestions, including Perception.
