These "A vs B" debates make me cringe.

Calmly discussing the pros and cons of both is one thing, it may be helpful to people who want some info in deciding how to part with there hard earned money but when you get fanboys aggressively arguing why there "CAMP" (LOL![:P]) is the best it just makes me laugh.

Why do some people get so sucked into hype marketing?

Do they realise that when they are fighting over which companies product is the best they are giving both companies free advertising? lol.

Fanboy = sad lonely individuals, just buy what you want and stop trying to force opinions on others.

I want both. [:)]

One of the looming questions about the PSP was will it support MP3's. Considering the Ipod and all the mp3 players about, it would be a huge setback if they didn't support it, but hey, you never know, Sony loves proprietary stuff. Well, Gamespot finds out that they are supporting it. Of course, how you get your mp3's on their special disc is something else..

Some new info on the PSP surfacing recently, roughly off the top of my head, playing time is around 6 hours, listening to music - 10 hours, and watching movies only 2 and a half hours (due to the constant disc spinning).. 4 hours full recharge.

Gamespot has tonnes of hands on previews (Metal Gear Acid, Gran Turismo Mobile etc) on the PSP from the Tokyo Gamne Show..

Dudes, dudes, where the games at ?: playstation, where the quality at ? : sony. Yes sony at one point were donig sh*tty products but with the ipod and the competition, believe me sony gon fight !!

Where Metal Gear Acid at ?: PSP
Where Socom at ?: PSP
Where Gt4 mobile at ?: PSP
Where Tales of Eternia at ?: PSP
Where Twisted metal at: PSP
Where Final Fantasy Advent Children at ?: PSP
Where the developpers at ?: PSP
Where the ps2-type graphics at ?: PSP

As to reply that:

Where is a new Castlevania?
Where is a new Boktai?
Where is Secret of Mana 3?
Where is Final Fantasy GAME?
Where is Megaman?
Where is Mario?
Where is Sonic?
Where is METROID?
Where is ZELDA?
Where is KONAMI? -> They are currently making 9 DS games
Where is NAMCO? -> Currently working on 8 Titles
WHERE IS SQUARE? -> Five games in developement[Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Secret of Mana sequels]

Just to be secure here is the source: http://www.cube-europe.com/news.php?nid=6833

And most important of all:

WHERE IS NINTENDO? -> They are currently working on 20 games, Just some names to count: Mario Bros. 4, Advance Wars DS, Fire Emblem DS, Wario Ware, F-Zero,...

Well all these Questions can be answered by "Nintendo DS" and true, the NDS don't lag Third Party Support at all, what u get here aren't just ports. And wow, I can buy that stupid FF-Movie for my DVD Player and whatch it with better details and quality at home with dolby digital sound, insane eh?

Some other questions:

Innovation? -> Touchscreen, 2 Screens to use once, built in microphone and voice recognition,... All u will see on the NDS but not on the PSP.

Battery Life? -> 2-10 hours doesn't sound long to me, the NDS will feature same lifetime as the GBA SP, so we have 8-10 hours.

Support? -> Yeah, the PSP gets a Metal Gear CARD GAME, wow, and a direct port of the coming PS2 game GT4, wow, Sure, the PSP kicks ass with this "great" support ;) -> On the other side, the NDS gets huge support from Third parties and of course Nintendo itself.

Aha boy you Damn right that a developer who DOESN't want to lose money make a ps2(in this case psp) version of their games so that's why i'm not worried about megaman, castlevania, any square-enix game, or any konami game, now you u be a fan-boy saying that the psp isn't great for all types of games (gee how EA gon make sport games on DS ?)

In a poratble there are 3 key aspects: Batteries,"durability", and "longterm technology"

Batteries:The psp batteries are estimated to last around 2-10 hours(depending on the media played) Yes you're right DS is more up to now(i love Sony, but i'm not stuborn)but take in consideration that sony is making batteries for their music players, they've developped techniques so that an attrac3 cd doesn't spin all the time(which resumes in less battery consumption) Let's wait and see...

Durability:here again sony ain't dumb...they know this time that they're making a portable console, i own a sony diskman(very solid) I saw a flip cell phone broken in two...pretty bad man(i feel sad for DS consoles in the hands of a 6 years old kid)

Longterm technology: i hear people hatin' on the UMD saying that:"it's too sony...they want to protect themselves" alot of bullshit like that.....yo cartridge then isn't the same ? how about the game quality ? (i mean would u choose a Vcr over a Dvd ?)Now nintendo is saying develop games on cartridge that cost more, longer to develop on,less capacity is that it ? I see a "blowing session" coming up (remember ? blow before playing any Nes,Snes, Virtua boy,N64 and gameboys games) What about UMD ? it can't be scratched since it's like a mini-disk....the lens won't be that affected by dust since there's a cover, unlike DS wich let any insect or dust get in. Plus a UMD case can store up to 5 UMDs...wat about DS ?

Large screen or two screens: i give u a plasma tv, u tell no u want two 13inches tvs (wtf ?)same situation, sony understood(sega did too with game gear) that portables need a BIG screen...and this way u open the door to all types of games...with the DS I AGREE IT OFFERS POSSIBILITIES(metroid was a cool example) but it can also close the door to game genres such as fighting and sports(nooooo way u gon make capcom or namco touch a screen intead of buttons!!!!!)Dude developers are more confident in a joystick(it's only logic)

design: When closed the DS is interesting but when open, yes u have 2 screens but a have alot of empty space(so why not saving space and make it smaller nintendo ?) But look at the PSP the design makes full use of the console's surface. i gotta admit i was afraid that to load a UMD u had to remove the cover(ouf thank god u don't !)

With the technology and support offered i Know that my psp won't be outdated as fast as the DS will be. Trust me nintendo make great consoles if a smaller budget(i would buy a cube waaayy before an xbox), i love their games:smash bros(best games ever pulled out by nintendo, i love it) But look at Sony, alway careful(ps1,ps2,psp) studying the market, so that their consoles would never fade away(never got a chance to lay my hands on the virtua boy)

This is something Sony could take home, and nintendo saw how sony is getting ready...that's why the DS leaves me cold....it feels rushed-out...WE NEVER HEARD ABOUT THE DS UNTILL SONY SHOWED THE FINAL PSP PIC(NINTENDO WAS RESTING ON THE GBA'S LAURELS)THAT'S WHEN NINTENDO SAID:"WHAT ! THEY GON FUCK US UP WIT THAT ! AND THEN 1,2,3 BOOM !!!!COMING OUT THIS NOVEMBER !....I DON'T KNOW MAN IGN BARELY COULD GET THEIR HANDS ON IT(UNLIKE THE PSP, SO IT LIKE A REVIEW) !

SONY CRUSH THAT !
