THQ Studio Australia, based in Brisbane, Australia, is a developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software. Founded in January 2003 as part of THQ Inc., THQ Studio Australia now employs more than 80 talented staff developing on all major console platforms, including Microsoft Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii.

We are currently seeking a Senior Multiplayer Level Designer to work on a high profile AAA multiplayer cooperative action combat project on the 360 and PS3. The successful applicant will be responsible for designing, building and documenting gameplay elements, levels and multiplayer scenarios. The position will require the use of our proprietary level design/world building tools and close collaboration with all discipline to produce finished game worlds.


* Create and execute multiplayer level design documents
* Collaborate with all disciplines to research and prototype interesting and fun gameplay ideas
* Place game objects throughout a world
* Set up scripts on objects
* Balance and adjust game-play experiences to ensure the product's critical and commercial success
* Acts as a leader, mentor and role model to more junior members of the team


* Proven ability to design engaging gaming experiences
* Proven ability in creating compelling multiplayer scenarios
* Online multiplayer experience I big plus
* Proven ability to communicate a design vision to all disciplines
* Proven ability to create simple yet compelling level and game play designs
* Written English and creative writing skills a distinct advantage
* Understanding of a scripting language or a high level of technical ability is highly regarded
* University Education desired
