Suggestions for the Australia 2020 Summit talk

Ah, I'm a bit of a forgetful chap when I have too many things happening at once, but a good friend of Sumea sent a message a few days ago calling for some suggestions, and I completely forgot about it until I saw that Screenplay had posted about it already.

You might know Marcus Westbury as the organiser behind Free Play, and he's sorta got himself into speaking at the Australia 2020 Summit at the last minute. The topic for discussion is "How to encourage participation in emerging global industries such as game design, the internet 2.0, graphics-rich applications and animation", and unfortunately there isn't anyone talking that's involved with games. From Marcus...

A very strange turn of events (which you can read about here) has led to me receiving at 11th hour call up to next weekend's 2020 Summit.

Despite the fact that Dthat one of the agenda items for next weekend's 2020 Summit is explicitly "How to encourage participation in emerging global industries such as game design, the internet 2.0, graphics-rich applications and animation" there is NO ONE on the list of delegates who really has much actual involvement with the computer games industry in Australia.

So I thought i'd take some initiative and to a call out for anyone from the Games Industry who wants to put ideas on the table to post them via my blog. I will do my best to take what i can from them to the summit or at least be aware of them if other delegates raise issues that might negatively impact on them.

I've set up a thread at this link if anyone wants to participate:

If you have any suggestions on what Marcus can talk about, please do post them up at his blog !!
