The Position: 3D Artist

Do you want your models to touch the minds of over 100,000 people? Cool, we need a sadistic looking brain probe modelled in twelve polygons... Your job is to construct low-polygon models and to create textures that not only look fantastic but work within the constraints of the game engine. You will be required to build items, creatures and scenery models within 3DSMAX. As a guide, our character models are around 3000 polys. You will be working closely with the Lead Artist, and Art Director creating the details that bring our breathtaking environments to life.
Requirements

- Extensive 3DSMAX skills
- Photoshop / painter skills
- Games Industry or Mod Experience
- Character Studio
- A showreel demonstrating low polygon modelling and texturing ability (nothing cartoony please)
- Ability to model and texture to a given style and direction

Support Engineer / Game Development Framework

BigWorld is seeking a support engineer for its award winning BigWorld- Technology for use in Massively Multiplayer Online Games. In this challenging role you will have to demonstrate your dual ability to deliver relevant and robust technical support, while developing and fostering excellent relationships with our clients.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Software Support Engineer who has strong problem solving, documentation and people skills to directly assist game development teams with using and integrating BigWorld- Technology. As a member of a tight knit team of world-class software developers, you will support our customers- game development efforts and provide expertise on use issues. In this role, you will communicate with many groups, confirming that needs are met and future needs are anticipated.
You will be proactive in working with the development team, gathering information on products, designing and writing technical documentation when required. You will also ensure that the existing documentation accurately reflects the behaviour of the software products.

Requirements:

- 2-3 years C++ programming
- Technical Writing experience is essential
- Microsoft Windows and Linux software development environments, 3D computer graphics, preferably Direct3D
- Experience of development tools such as Visual Studio.NET and Revision Control Software
- Familiarity with graphics tools such as 3DS Max and Photoshop will be highly regarded
- Excellent communication skills and a strong team player
- Must be self-motivated and able to work successfully without direct supervision.

Desirable:

- Modelling and texturing skills will be an advantage.
- Some network development experience will be an advantage
- Knowledge of debugging and profiling tools will be an advantage
- Ability to analyse complex issues
- Good people skills and ability to work with many different engineers with differing talent levels.

Lead Artist

Lead Game Designer

This is a rare opportunity to be involved in creating new, original game designs in the context of a massively multiplayer world.
You must be an outstanding communicator who has the ability to take a leadership role.
Requirements :
- The successful candidate should have a minimum of three years of commercial game design experience. Ideally, you will have contributed to the design of at least one published title from inception to final ship.
- Able to produce high quality, entertaining products within tight time and cost constraints.
- Able to work with and direct a team of programmers, artists and sound engineers.
- Able to produce articulate design documentation detailing innovative game-play mechanics, mission walkthroughs, story lines, character biographies, interface design, control systems, and asset inventories.
- Able to consider game-wide issues such as core game-play mechanic, interface, pacing and story, and game balance / difficulty curve.
- Previous experience using game editors / scripting systems

Game Server / Network Programmer

Your expertise in low level systems programming such as optimizing network I/O and talent at higher level programming of client / server interactions and network monitoring tools will make an invaluable contribution to our Massively Multiplayer Game Technology.
