Adult gamers call for R rating

APC Magazine has an article with an indepth look at the whole games classification situation in Australia. It covers the ruling in Western Australia, where public store displays of MA15+ games is punishable with a hefty fine, as well as the deciding vote on the OFLC board which refused classification for Mark Ecko's Getting Up grafitti game in Australia.

The article also details the legal loophole where games that were refused classification by the OFLC can be obtained legally via the internet, as long as you're not from the Northern Territory or Western Australia...

Graham, Electronic Frontiers Australia (EFA): Under Commonwealth law it would be illegal to make it available on an Australian website. But the only districts in Australia that ban possession of RC material are NT and WA. In those states if you?ve downloaded RC material you have broken the law.
