Time is running out for Gold Coast contestants taking part in an international competition for designing and developing electronic games.
They will be competing against contestants from Dundee in Scotland and Chuncheon City, Korea, in the competition that has been organised by the Global Digital City Network. The Global Digital City Network is a growing organisation of cities dedicated to promoting worldclass digital and knowledge-based industrial activity among members.
Gold Coast City Council is the organiser and a co-sponsor of the Australian arm of the competition. The competition website, www.gdcngamecomp.com, is now online and provides details to residents and students on how to enter. There are four categories in the competition, with the best overall entry from the category winners being awarded the major prize. Categories are: student multimedia, non-student multimedia, student non-multimedia and non-student non-multimedia. Entries can include game demos, animations, art, or musical pieces.
Entries close on June 30 with the Gold Coast's best entry being awarded travel and accommodation to attend the international judging in Dundee, Scotland in August 2007.
