Film Victoria will support the development of six innovative digital media projects through its Digital Media Fund (DMF) program. The DMF stimulates creative and economic growth of digital animation, game prototype design, innovative digital content and audience development for the Victorian digital media industry.
IR Gurus Interactive Australia and Iron Monkey Studios were both provided Game Prototype Development investment funds to develop two new game projects with strong audience appeal. IR Gurus Interactive Australia will develop a game of the world?s longest running science fiction television series Dr. Who. Iron Monkey Studios will develop Darkenlight, a darkly-twisted, humorously spooky game of fighting action and exploration, set in an enigmatic world where nothing is quite what it seems.
Film Victoria also confirmed Lycette Brothers will receive Digital Animation investment funding for their suite of animated ring tones, VideoTones.
CEO of Film Victoria Sandra Sdraulig said, ?It is wonderful to assist companies and individuals to progress their innovative ideas to the next stage of development. Through our Digital Media Fund programs we have uncovered many exceptional project ideas that utilise new technology to create innovative content, game designs and animation. The diversity of ideas that were submitted for this program indicates the creative strength of the Victorian digital media sector.?
