Hi, my name is Jack Bruxner and I am a Game Designer and Artist currently residing in Melbourne, Australia.
Having grown up with a passion for art and graphic design, I first began to become interested in the field of Game Design in my teenage years, after a childhood spent playing everything from Pokemon to Crazy Taxi. From there, my passion grew into the start of a career, as I was accepted into the Bachelor of Design (Games) course in 2014. Having completed the course with distinction, I’ve since devoted my time to developing my skills in both art and design, and in the knowledge of useful programs.
I love a game that lets you play how you want to. To me, there’s nothing better than a game that hands you a simple mechanic and lets you choose how you wish to use it. I also have a real love of games that use a clean and simple visual style, which is part of the reason I enjoy creating pixel art so much. There’s something really impressive about communicating a concept with as little visual information as possible.
When I’m not working on games, you can usually find me (suprise suprise!) playing them. Competitive online multiplayer games are my go-to fix, but any game with a great visual style will catch my interest. Outside of games, I have a real love affair with animated films and TV series, from Aardman Animations to Studio Ghibli and everything in-between! I also love discovering new music, and occasionally like to dabble in making my own music for games.
